Bank focus on new options platforms intensifies

In little more than a year, the number of multibank trading platforms for foreign exchange options has multiplied and, while most platforms are still fairly cagey about their trading volumes and liquidity providers, their models are being increasingly scrutinised as regulatory deadlines advance.

If, as expected, new regulations for over-the-counter derivatives require FX options to be traded on swap execution facilities in the US and organised trading facilities in Europe, the new options
