UK least likely to adopt euro

Uncertainty about the future of the EU is rife, with forthcoming referendums on the constitution in France and the Netherlands. Our survey found that many in the FX industry think that one of the central goals of the project – full monetary union – will never come to pass. Some 29% of the 94 respondents to the survey said Britain will never join the euro.

However, the FX community is much more bullish on membership for newer members of the EU. Just 2% thought that Poland, Hungary and Slovakia
