Krona boosted by talk of euro entry

STOCKHOLM -- The Swedish krona has been boosted by the expectation that Sweden will hold a referendum on euro entry in spring 2003, although the impact on the euro’s value has been minimal, analysts told FX Week.

Recent opinion polls in Sweden show a large swing in favour of joining the euro, and analysts surveyed by FX Week are naming 2005 as the earliest likely date for Swedish entry into the EMU.
