Dollar correction gathers pace

NEW YORK -- The US dollar continued to claw back ground following its bearish run last week, as FX dealers reassessed the outlook for the US economy.

Although it was dented by a bout of profit-taking, analysts told FX Week the outlook for the greenback has improved.

"The weakness seen from mid-July to mid-August is passing," Jane Foley, currency strategist at Barclays Capital in London, told FX Week. "The market was then pricing-in the disappointment that we were not going to see a ‘V’ shaped
