CFTC working on cyber-security and auto-trading rules
Aiming for year-end target, but market participants are pushing back at some requirements
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is working to finalise new rules on cyber security and automated trading that are due later this year, increasing pressure on market participants to adopt certain best practices amid growing concerns about the treatment of proprietary information and confidentiality.
CFTC chairman Timothy Massad disclosed the agency's plans while speaking at the 41st annual FIA conference in Boca Raton, Florida on March 16, citing the two issues as emerging threats
