Technology budgets on the buy side are expected to grow in the year ahead, after remaining flat in 2016, as the second Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (Mifid II) pushes market participants to shell out more on tools such as order-management systems and transaction cost analytics to remain compliant, according to a survey by Greenwich Associates.
