Sybase moves into forex

The platform, already in use by a number of Wall Street firms and using Sybase IQ as its underlying analytic engine, provides query performance up to 100 times faster than relational database management systems.

Two firms, the brokerage ITG and Citibank, are using the service from this week, according to Ian Warford, director of financial services at Sybase. He added that Sybase is in talks with another 16 companies, most of which have been going on for two years.
