Exporters resilient to strong Aussie dollar

According to the latest forecast by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE) released last month, earnings from commodity exports are expected to increase by 15% to a record of $95 billion in 2004–5. "This forecast increase mainly reflects higher minerals and energy prices on world markets and increased export shipments in response to global economic growth," said Brian Fisher, executive director of ABARE.
