EBS reports record trading week

EBS has reported that the start of 2005 saw the busiest FX trading week in the organisation’s 11-year history.

The interbank broker reported average volumes exceeding $162 billion per day for the first trading week of 2005 on the EBS Spot Dealing System. This is a 21% increase on the $133 billion average daily volumes for the first week of 2004. The first week of 2003 saw volumes of over $103 billion.

Total trading volumes for the week from January 2–7 2005 exceeded
