Reuters outage hits FX

LONDON -- Market participants managed to avoid major disruption to European FX trading last week, after a Reuters outage left them without real-time live prices for four hours.

Although some users received "intermittent" services during the outage, according to a Reuters spokesperson, others were forced to use alternative providers or go without live prices.

"It caused quite a few problems in the market," said one head of FX at a broker in London, speaking on the day of the outage on September 10

Only users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
