HSBC Takes Versant’s ODBMS

LONDON--HSBC is taking e-business infrastructure developer Versant Corporation’s Object Database Management System (ODBMS) for its foreign exchange division in London. ODBMS stores objects with all referential information intact, enabling quicker analysis of complex data relationships such as derivatives trades.

HSBC is the latest bank to take the system, says Adrian Jones, vice-president of European sales for Versant in London. The bank will use the database in a redevelopment of its foreign
