BNP Plans Wide-Scale Expansion To HK FX/MM & Treasury Divisions By Year End

The Hong Kong branch of Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) plans to expand and refocus its FX, money markets and overall treasury department by gradually hiring up to 40 per cent more staff by the end of the year, according to Tony Fung, head of the bank's dealing room in Hong Kong.

Fung, who oversees the 50-strong FX and money market trading and sales staff, says that BNP hopes to grow the operation to 60 or 70 dealers over the coming months.

Fung says BNP is also looking to expand its Asian equity
