BIS Survey Places U.S. At Top Of Currency Options Activity

The U.S. currency options market is more than twice the size of its U.K. forerunner in terms of gross FX market turnover but the gap is narrowing as a new breed of corporate treasurer--young and educated on options--comes to the fore.

In a survey of options market participants, FX Week has found that most attribute the strong U.S. lead to the fact that options trading in general began in the U.S.. Even though currency options are only about a decade old, most U.S. traders have been weaned on them
