FX off the agenda at European Parliament meeting

At the latest Econ meeting in Brussels on February 28, MEPs were scheduled to discuss a draft parliamentary report on the proposed regulation of over-the-counter derivatives authored by rapporteur Werner Langen MEP. Although the meeting went ahead, there was no discussion of whether FX contracts should be exempted from the new rules for clearing and reporting of contracts.
