The futures regulator said that final regulations concerning over-the-counter retail foreign exchange trading implement provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008. Under the new laws, the CFTC gains authority to register and regulate brokers looking to act as counterparties to, or to intermediate, retail foreign exchange transactions.
