Johnson appeals to FX community for sentencing help

Mark Johnson, who has been found guilty of wire fraud in the US, is asking people to write to the judge as character witnesses

Mark Johnson, the former HSBC executive found guilty of wire fraud in the US on October 23, has written to members of the foreign exchange community to ask them for their support, in the form of a letter to the sentencing judge in the case, according to an email forwarded to FX Week by a market source.

Johnson, the former global head of foreign exchange cash trading at HSBC, was found guilty of conspiracy and eight counts of wire fraud after four weeks of trial. He is now awaiting sentencing
