HSBC nabs Randall and Somia

Dan Randall is set to join the e-Trading quant desk while Shamik Somia boosts the Stir Emea team

Trading boost: HSBC makes two hires in the quant trading and Stir teams

Dan Randall and Shamik Somia are set to join HSBC from Citi and RBS, respectively, FX Week has learned.

Randall will join HSBC’s e-Trading quant trading team, while Somia becomes a FX forwards trader and a member of the bank’s short-term interest rate (Stir) trading desk for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Randall was previously an e-FX trader at Citi for nearly six years, where he traded spot FX for G10 and deliverable emerging markets currency pairs, both in London and Singapore. He
