Ever since the financial crisis engulfed markets across the world in 2008, one flame has fervently refused to die down and burns as strongly today as it did at the height of the crisis – remuneration. Public anger has been directed from all sides at those in the financial sector that pocketed large salaries and bonuses while taking risks that landed the world in the most severe economic downturn in a generation.

Regardless of whether that anger is justified, it has shoved bank remuneration
