The move follows the promotions of Marc Breillout and Grégoire Varenne earlier this month to head the newly created division (FX Week, January 15).

Lars Hakanson in London retains his previous responsibilities, under a new title of head of FX, Europe and Asia. His job title changed as part of the Step Up 2010 business reorganisation and growth plan, the bank said.

Hakanson joined SG CIB in 1988 as a forex and fixed-income trader working in both Paris and London. He then moved to the Czech Republic
