Azimo launches euro money transfers to Scotland

Cross-border payments firm responds to currency uncertainty

Cross-border payments company Azimo is launching a euro money transfer service to Scotland in preparation for the possibility of the country voting for independence on September 18.

Azimo's move comes after Mark Carney, governor of the Bank of England, categorically ruled out a currency union between Scotland and the rest of Britain in the event of a Yes vote. The company will offer transfers to bank accounts in Scotland in euros.
