Ice joins forex central clearing debate
The exchange counters efforts by rival clearing service providers LCH.Clearnet and the CME Group, which have stated intentions to launch a clearing service for FX products in the past 12 months (FX Week, September 28 and November 2).
Sprecher told FX Week that, while the debate as to whether over-the-counter FX contracts should be cleared centrally rumbles on, it is clear "banks have a willingness to hold the short-term risk of FX exposures on their books."
