FX trading volumes normalise

LONDON - Trading volumes are returning to normal after two years of extreme volatility, according to figures released by the major foreign exchange trading venues this month. Average daily spot FX volume on EBS was $128.6 billion in September and $147.5 billion for the 12 months to September 30.

While that is a large drop from last year's volumes - down 53% from September 2008, when EBS experienced its largest-ever average monthly volume of $274.2 billion in the fallout from the Lehman Brothers
