BarCap prevails on bearish outlook

From April 2007, BarCap believed the US dollar and yen would continue to be weak, particularly against the euro.

"We expected the growth/inflation mix to favour the euro over the US dollar, and believed resident portfolio outflows would continue to weigh on the yen," said Adarsh Sinha, BarCap's London-based forex strategist.

This bearish forecast has since been validated, with the dollar and yen proving to be the worst performing G10 currencies over the past month.
