Proprietary traders leave banks in search of 'hard cash'
Ashton said in the past five months he has received up to 1,200 applications from traders wanting a job in proprietary trading at his firm. "FX and rates is the main product area among these," he told FX Week. "Banks lured people with pipe dreams and promises whereas we are offering hard cash and transparency of payout."
Prop traders are increasingly considering new jobs, in search of a guaranteed end-of-year bonus, to the benefit of proprietary trading companies.
