Merrill Lynch hires globally
In New York, the bank has hired ex-JP Morgan sterling trader Chris Fahey for its spot desk, along with Mark Gardener from Barclays Capital, where he held a similar role.
In Brazil, Sergio Silva joins the bank’s São Paulo office as a vice-president in local currencies emerging markets. He joins locally from Citibank.
Merrill is understood to be hiring another two people for London and New York, although it did not confirm this.
All the new appointees report ultimately to ex-Morgan Stanley FX
