Strong growth in sales of currency products was cited as one reason. Net trading income increased an impressive 50% to £2.2 billion, with FX, commodities, fixed income and credit derivatives performing particularly well, said the report. Ivan Ritossa, global head of forex for BarCap in London, while declining to give detailed numbers for the business, said FX performed strongly across the board.
