CME reports continual growth in July

Electronic trading made up 93% of daily average FX volume in July. Volume over the CME Globex platform averaged 585,000 contracts per day, representing a 75% increase from July 2006.

The yen had a particularly strong July, jumping 114% year-on-year, from an average $7.4 billion a day in notional value in July 2006 to $15.8 billion a day, accounting for 24% of CME FX volume. The Swiss franc also leapt from an average $4 billion a day in notional value in July 2006, to $8 billion in July 2007.
