Goldman Sachs’ traders are believed to have reaped the rewards of another profitable year, which comes as no surprise to industry participants. Senior currency traders are said to have done exceptionally well, as did the bank’s prop traders.
Lehman Brothers is believed to have paid out well to a number of its staff, although it is thought a significant number were on guarantees. "Those that did well, did very well," said a head-hunter in New York. But, he added, the same applied the other way.
