South Korean FX trading up 100% in first quarter

According to statistics from the Bank of Korea (BoK), average daily FX trading volume reached $27.5 billion in the first three months of the year, up from $13.7 billion in the first quarter of 2007. The first quarter volumes were also up 10.2%, from $24.9 billion averaged daily in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Daily average spot transactions saw increased activity, amounting to $10.46 billion, up 44.2 % and 14.7% from the first and fourth quarters of 2007, respectively.
