E-trading lifts retail volumes

Research by Connecticut-based consulting firm Greenwich Associates found both retail aggregators and bank retail networks, which primarily extend market access to retail traders via electronic systems, have experienced a steady increase in trade volumes.

The firm said the fact that retail demand for spot transactions is increasing as forward demand declines is further indication of the dominant role electronic platforms play in retail FX.
