Making predictions on the year ahead for FX Week, senior figures from the top banks and platforms said that the growth in retail activity and changes in platform ownership will lead to an evolved environment.

Philip Brittan, New York-based global head of FX at Bloomberg, said: "We expect to see some fallout from the consolidation and partnerships in platforms we witnessed in 2006... The market will continue to see a strong compression of fees as customers move away from expensive channels
