Bloomberg overtakes Reuters in Asia-Pacific

HONG KONG -- Bloomberg has overtaken Reuters as the terminal of choice in Asia for the first time, according to a recent survey by market data consultancy Information Concepts in Hong Kong.
The survey showed Bloomberg had grown its subscriber base to a total of 88 brokers, fund managers and treasury dealing floors in 2001, from just 24 six years ago.
In the same time-span, Reuters -- once the pre-eminent provider in Asia -- saw its total subscriber base grow 22% to reach 82 in 2001.
