Thai Finance Company Anticipates PBOC Domestic Currency Licence

Chia Tai International Finance Company (CTIFC), China's first and only foreign-owned non-banking finance institution, says it is optimistic about being granted a domestic currency licence by the People's Bank of China (PBOC) within the next 12 months.

CTIFC's treasurer and FX manager, Wilson Siew, says the Shanghai-based company applied for a renminbi licence with the PBOC last year and he is optimistic that the company will be granted the domestic currency licence within a year.
