Deutsche Soars To Third Slot With Bumper Year For 1999

FRANKFURT--1999 was the best year ever for Deutsche Bank's foreign exchange operation which hit a record EUR817 million ($823 million) pipping Chase Manhattan at $807 million into third place in terms of market prominence.

"However, unlike Chase whose profits dropped last year, Deutsche’s revenues have soared. The result is a real achievement for Deutsche," says a banking analyst.
