Brokers Show Mixed Profits, But Lower Turnover Generally

Several of the industry's largest money brokers releasing interim results last week are showing mixed returns, but generally flat-to-lower turnover volume for the period ended June 30.

Tullett & Tokyo Forex reports a 64 per cent increase in interim profit on ordinary activities before taxation to £9.486 million for the period from £5.798 million a year ago. The improved profitability is attributed to a management action taken in 1995 to reduce the group's cost base, streamline the management
