CME Special Currency Committee Seeks To Boost Dwindling Volumes

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange's Currency Committee and Special Committee on Currencies are exploring additional ways of boosting lagging volumes in its currency sector, sources say.

Earlier opening hours, a large order execution facility and creation of a new subsidiary to support Globex were among the primary topics discussed at a recent meeting, sources say.

The efforts are designed to attract users to the exchange, which recent data shows, continues to struggle beneath dwindling volumes
