US Banks May Show Lower Q3 FX Due To Low Volatility, Analysts Say

US banks begin releasing their third quarter earnings next week, but due to extremely low volatility during the summer months, profits are not expected to be on par with the first two quarters of the year, analysts say.

The summer had fairly stable exchange rates, says David Gilmore, FX analyst and co-founder of FX Analytics. This want of volatility could result in lower earnings on both the customer and proprietary trading sides.
