Reuters' Year-End Results Show Strength In Transaction Products

LONDON--Reuters reports that 1997 revenues for its Dealing 2000 range of transactions products fell by 5 per cent year-on-year at actual rates to £438 million ($719 million), but grew by 5 per cent at comparable rates; however, the transaction products sector improved overall, due mainly to growth in Instinet, its agency brokerage service for global equities and securities.

Reuters reports that the strength of sterling hit overall revenues in 1997 causing a 1 per cent decline in the year-end
