Technology blamed for job losses at Credit Lyonnais

LONDON – Electronic trading technology continues to affect staff numbers at banks in the City, with Credit Lyonnais becoming the latest bank to reduce its London headcount.

In June, three FX trading and sales dealers left the bank’s London dealing floor. Graham Whitehair, Credit Lyonnais’ London-based global head of FX, told FX Week the departures were “a case of the usual attrition at banks, brought about by increased technological efficiencies”.
