Swissie safe haven fades

EURO COMMENTARY

ZURICH -- The Swiss franc has been one of the biggest gainers in the FX markets following the recent events in the US, but it is in danger of losing its safe-haven status, market participants told FX Week.

The currency was pushed higher against the dollar in the wake of the terrorist attacks as investors shifted funds to Switzerland -- usually seen as the number-one safe haven in times of political uncertainty. But those gains are being eroded as large franc positions are unwound.
