Swiss Bank Corporation achieved strong earnings growth in the first quarter of 1997, says a bank statement. Net profit after tax and minorities was well ahead of expectations. The main contribution to these results came from SBC Warburg and SBC Private Banking, but SBC Switzerland and SBC Brinson also made good progress, says the report. Commission income and trading revenues benefited from buoyant financial markets, it adds.
