Telerate Reports Sluggish Growth Except For Operation In Europe

Dow Jones Telerate last week reported its sixth consecutive drop in quarterly turnover growth rates, weighing in with just a 1.7 per cent global increase over the second quarter of last year. The picture would have been worse but for a strong showing by the European operation, the only region to show growth.

The results coincide with the resignation of Carl Valenti, chief executive officer of Telerate since 1990, who is being replaced by Kenneth Burenga, chief operating officer of Dow Jones & Co
