Commodity trading advisory (CTA) programmes which trade in the currency markets were top performers in January, according to TASS Management Limited's Tass Flash report, which follows the performance of 70 CTA programmes. All of the top 10 performers for the month saw most of their profits from trades in the currency markets. According to the report, the successful trading strategies included going long the US dollar and shorting the Deustche mark and Japanese yen.
