National Westminster 1993 FX Income Up; But Lloyds Bank Posts 14.7 Per Cent Drop

National Westminster Bank announced a jump in dealing income of 24 per cent in 1993, to £508 million from £410 million in 1992. Although the bank stopped breaking out a separate foreign exchange figure in 1993, the bank's chief financial officer, Richard Goeltz, told FX Week that foreign exchange gains were up "a little" over 1992 FX income of £228 million. He refused to disclose an exact FX gains figure for 1993.
