Reuters FX Dealing Systems Suffer Y2K Hangover

LONDON -- Reuters Trading Solutions (RTS) is blaming the ongoing effects of Y2K on sales of its foreign exchange dealing systems for a downturn in first-half profits for 2000.

The division earned $372 million in first half 2000, down from $379 million a year ago.

The total number of dealing terminals was 21,000 at June 30, 2000 -- a reduction of 7 per cent compared to June 30,1999.
