HSBC beefs up its forex research with Chandler hire

NEW YORK – HSBC has beefed up its currency research operations with the hire of renowned analyst Marc Chandler from Mellon Bank.

Chandler, who was previously chief currency strategist at Pittsburgh-based Mellon Bank, will become chief currency strategist for America at HSBC in New York. He begins work on June 1.

Chandler will be responsible for heading a team of strategists focusing on currency and emerging market research and analysis, and will report to Alain Delelis, head of foreign-exchange
