PROFILE
Gerry began his banking career in 1943 at the Bank of Saxony in East Germany. After a stint as a British military translator in the 1940s, he moved to Deutsche Bank in 1949, where he first became involved in foreign exchange.
Gohler, who speaks four languages, moved to North American in the early 1950s where he worked with the Bank of Montreal in Canada and later in New York. He then moved to First Interstate Bank in Los Angeles in 1960. Making California his home, he went on to work at Jefferies
