Third-party commentary service provider McCarthy Crisanti & Maffei (MCM) will be spun-off to its shareholders ahead of its parent's imminent sale to Morgan Stanley, officials say. Clayton Dubilier & Rice (CDR), an LBO firm, is the controlling shareholder of MCM's parent Van Kampen American Capital.
