Barclays De Zoete Wedd (BZW) has hired Andy Spencer, an 18-year veteran from J.P. Morgan in London as its new head of spot trading, according to global foreign exchange director Humphrey Percy. Spencer, 37, who was a senior trader at Morgan, will replace Doug Bate, who was recently named Tokyo foreign exchange director. "Since Doug went to Tokyo, I have been looking for someone to head spot trading," says Percy. "I'm quite pleased--Andy is a good acquisition and I consider this a key appointment
