JP Morgan Bolsters Yen Desk In Wake Of Big Bang Reforms

LONDON--JP Morgan is restructuring its Japanese yen spot trading operation in London in order to meet a surge in demand from Japanese clients for FX services, says Alan Collins, regional head of FX and commodities in London.

London's status as a yen trading centre is growing in the wake of deregulation of the Tokyo financial markets in April, says Collins, when the so-called Big Bang reforms enabled Japanese corporates and investors to deal with non-Japanese institutions for the first time.
